ACTIVITIES.
5 day workshop and overnight accommodations, including continental breakfast.
Whale watching trip followed by painting at the docks in Moss Landing. WHALE WATCH CRUISES AVERAGE 4 HOURS LONG. Bring your camera!!  We have always seen what they show on their web site.  We have never gone on a watching trip where we did not see whales. Those not wishing to take the whale watch trip can  choose to paint around Moss Landing which has wonderful scenery from boats to slough.   But you really should not pass up whale watching, you'll miss the experience of a lifetime. They rent bracelets on board to avoid seasickness and the bracelets work. http://www.sanctuarycruises.com/index.html
After whale watching, early dinner at Phil's Fish House in Moss Landing, at restaurant prices $10 to $15 and up  (you don't have to eat fish) They serve WAY too much food, 2 can split.  Wonderful Clam Chowder at around $3.50 per cup to $6.95 for bread bowl.  http://www.philsfishmarket.com/eatery.html
Lighthouses and ocean painting trip (lunch provided) Santa Cruz and Pigeon Point, followed by a Maine lobster dinner for under $13 at the wharf in Santa Cruz, yes, where can you beat that price? But you don’t have to eat lobster, full menu provided.

Evenings: Demos, discussions, critiques.
Transportation will be arranged for each workshop day trip.
Side trips may include trips to San Francisco and Monterey Bay. You may want to rent a car.  You will be about 57 miles from San Francisco and 55 miles from Monterey and Carmel.  Santa Cruz with its fantastic pier (holes cut to view the sea lions) and Light House Museum park where the big surf competitions are held is under 20 miles away. We are very close to several California redwood parks and a painting trip to one will be included, or you may want to visit them on your own. Muir Woods is about 65 miles, just across the Golden Gate bridge, but the Henry Cowell Park in the Santa Cruz Mountains is just a short mountain drive. To visit the park go to http://www.mnn.net/cowell.htm
