Edna Wagner Piersol paints mostly in water media. She is fascinated by the effects possible on thin papers such as

ordinary tissue paper and rice paper.
Many of her portraits are done on tissue paper and then collaged onto paper or canvas.

This technique produces an almost lifelike glowing color range.
